" 11 Techniques for Better Classroom Discipline"

The article"11 Techniques for Better Classroom Discipline" written by Thomas R. McDaniel, is mainly a recapitulation of certain techniques of teaching to consider or apply in the classroom. One of the techniques that the author recommends is “Modelling” which consists in that a teacher teaches through their own behaviour. And this is because teachers are models to their students. What the author mentions is something relevant to bear in mind. While they teach, do not exactly teach just contents, but they also do teach values and students are able to perceive those. Moreover, the point of teaching values is something important to be aware of in this society which seems to have lack of these nowadays.

On the other hand, the article is not entirely useful is some way. Probably, the phrase “the teacher is the boss…”is not completely suitable to recommend us. A teacher is not a boss , he or she is a guide in student’s live, even if the teacher can have a kind of power inside the classroom. Nevertheless, according to this article, it is really interesting to read and useful to have a large knowledge of what types of strategies teachers can use for.

  1. I agree with your ideas.
I think we can have some examples of discipline techniques that we can use and we can be guided by them, but first we have to understand students' lives then we can use a technique that can help us to make a better class. Students, as human beings, have things that are much more important than what we are teaching them.
We need many techniques strategies which we could be supported and thus we could try to create new ones. Innovating human education.

  2. Great in-depth critique of the article! Did you forget to underline examples of emphatic language in your post? (See the instructions on the class blog.)
At the beginning of the second paragraph, I believe you mean to say, "*On* the other hand, I would not say I agree with all of the article," or "On the other hand, I would not say I don't disagree with anything in the article." Ask me about this in class on Friday if you want more clarification.

  3. I agree when you say that a teacher is not a boss because he or she is a guide. I also think that we as teachers are models, for that reason our actions in front of class have to be appropriate in order to be good models for students.

I have to say that your entry is really good. Beside of some grammar mistakes or typing mistakes what your wrote is great.
